MULTIPLE CHOICE SESSION #1 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Helping People to Discover their Ministry
(From Hearers to Doers: Teaching That Transforms) -- Facilitating the people in our churches to take their learning experiences outside the classroom into the ministry of the church and everyday life. Producing obedient believers. (Conference Leader: To be Determined) Ministry to Those with Special Needs We are committed to going and making disciples of all nations, but sometimes struggle to connect with individuals who face challenges in processing language, who have difficulty with communication and social interaction, or have physical limitations. Discover ways to minister to those with special needs (autism, physical disabilities, ADHD, etc) in your Sunday school or small group ministries. (Conference Leader: Janiss Fowler, White Oak Baptist Church, CT) Transformational Church goes to Sunday School for Adults How are we doing? The church, that is. And how are we doing it? Congregations have long measured success by “bodies, budgets and buildings” — a certain record of attendance, the offering plate and square footage. But the scorecard can’t stop there. Come find out how to put the emphasis on accountability, discipleship and spiritual things. (Conference Leader: Jessica Green, Timothy Baptist Church, MA) Personal Evangelism What is my responsibility in sharing the gospel with others? Come and learn some very practical answers and challenges to this topic. (Conference Leader: Bruce James, Baptist Convention of New England)
Your Church and Social Networks Is your church using social networks? Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way you could stay in touch online, keep abreast of what’s happening in people’s lives, send them a quick message, invite them to events, share digital media (such as photos), see who their friends are, and do it all in one place? That is what social networking is all about. Come and learn some ways that you can begin the journey and avoid the pitfalls that can come if you are not savvy. (Conference leader: Sandy Coelho, Baptist Convention of New England) Making Disciples Come and discover what is a disciple and then explore some pathways to making disciples in your church setting. (Conference Leader: Ron Mills, Island Pond Baptist Church, NH) Kids and Biblical Truths Have you wondered why you teach children? Are you making a difference in the lives of children? This session will help take your Bible teaching and bring it to life with biblical truths that children can understand for daily living. (Conference Leader: Robin Mills, Island Pond Baptist Church, NH) Raising up Prayer Warriors Come and discover ways to raise up prayer warriors to pray for the sick and unsaved of your church and community. Find out some great ways to join unified hearts in prayer. (Conference Leader: To Be Determined) Effective Sunday School on a Shoestring Budget It is possible to have a great Sunday School on a limited budget. It just takes lots of prayer and careful planning. We will look at ideas to keep your Sunday School going strong. (Conference Leader: Daniel Casanova, Florida) MULTIPLE CHOICE SESSION #2 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Bible Storying If you were standing outside a locked door with your neighbors and there was a vicious cold wind blowing and you had a key in your pocket…would you use it? Bible storying is an “open door” and can help the hearer connect with God’s Word. Come and learn some effective techniques for sharing the Bible in the church, in the classroom, in the park or anyplace that people of any age gather. (Conference Leader: Janiss Fowler, CT) Ministering to the Church over Difficult Issues How can the church be Christ in the world and deal sensitively with the difficult realities of homosexuality, teen pregnancy, aids, cohabitation and more? (Conference Leader: To Be Determined) Is Your Church Missing the Boat?? Did you know that what takes place after any event is just as important as what takes place during the event? This is called follow up and it is one of the most challenging things in the local church. Come and get in on the discussion and begin meeting the follow up challenge head on. (Conference leader: Sandy Coelho, Baptist Convention of New England) Outreach Ideas with Preschoolers and Children All around our church, community and home are preschoolers and children who need to know of Jesus' love. Discover ideas for how teachers and classes can reach out to those who are not involved in your children's ministry or church. (Conference Leader: Robin Mills, Island Pond Baptist Church, NH) Five Values of a Vibrant Teaching Ministry A transformational teaching ministry is not about how well-organized you are but about how focused you are on accomplishing the key values of a vibrant teaching ministry. During this session, we will explore the core values of a vibrant teaching ministry, including God's Word, caring ministry and valuing leaders and impacting your community. (Conference Leader: Ron Mills, Island Pond Baptist Church, NH) Teaching Children: the Learning Game Learn the basic foundation that teachers need to successfully teach elementary children in an age appropriate way.
